Key Stage 1 covers Years 1 and 2 when children are aged 5 to 7 years old. Key Stage 2 covers Years 3 to 6 when children are aged from 7 to 11 years old. The curriculum for Key Stages 1 and 2 builds on the six areas of learning contained in the Foundation Stage.
